Below are a few pictures from the celebration at VFW Post 8790  on Saturday, July 27.  



This is Scott DeMasi.  Scott and his son Alex, started Wreaths Across America
in Houston, after Alex questioned his dad about why the wreaths were not available for
the Houston National Cemetery.  That was 12 years ago. 
(Wreath's Across America has kicked off their drive this year and distribution will  be 12/14/2019.



Ggochnim Bak, Consul of the Republic of Korea. 
Her term ends next month and returns to S. Korea.  She has been here 2 years.


Elliott Sortillo, the key note speaker. 
Elliott, USA was captured at the Chosin Reservoir and spent his 17, 18 & 19 birthday as a POW. 
After being freed, he reenlisted, served in Vietnam
Company "B" 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) 1964-1965, earning many medals and citations.


Helen Chang, Past President-Korean American Woman's
Association of Houston, and a strong advocate of our Korean War Veterans.

This adorable little girl is Charlotte Mok, who performed a creative dance.
